Profile of an Encourager

Happy Sunday Friends!
What a beautiful day it's been!
I will share all about my Weekend fun tomorrow in my weekly Monday Photo Recap... but today I wanted to share about a wonderful sermon our preacher spoke on this morning.
Seriously, it was wonderful!!

He spoke about Barnabus (Joseph) in Acts and how he was an encourager.
He talked about when people saw Barnabus coming they thought: Here come the encourager!
It made me think of how much I want that to be me and I strive for it to be!!

Four Bullets he mentioned:
*taken directly from his message*
1) Encouragers are Givers
"Give tangibly with nothing wanted or expected in return"
I so want to strive to be that... I want to have a giving heart like so many of those around me and help how I can! Nothing gives me greater pleasure than knowing I gave someone a smile!!

2) Encouragers Accept You Where You Are
"Encouragers are the kind of people who don't look at your reputation or your past. They have a wonderful ability to let the past be the past and start fresh right where you are."
WOW- how true is that.
We all have pasts- but it's not our pasts that define us!
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it!

3) Encouragers Rejoice in the Blessings of Others
"Encouragers get excited about the progress of others"
Something I have loved doing since surgery is celebrate in the successes of fellow people.
I know how amazing I feel when someone says I look good or I'm doing a good job, so I strive and will continue to strive to do so as much as I can!
I love to pass out compliments!

4) Encouragers Give Others a Second Chance
"Encouragers realize that one failure doesn't mean total failure"
Thank God for that! How many mistakes do we all make each day.
Again it's the way we respond to those mistakes! I hated the day of and day after my wreck- that negativity- I just had to literally make a conscious effort to just say forget it! I chose to be happy!
We all make mistakes and errors and have to choose to not let them define us!

I really just wanted to remember how much I liked this sermon and how much the words meant to me- I hope you can take something from it as well.

Also though- I hope you will use this to hold me accountable!
I want to be an encouragement to you in any way I can!!

"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care"

Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up
losing months of hard work due to no back up. Do you
have any methods to stop hackers?
