Blessed!
Ya know, I never realized just how blessed I am until it almost hits you right in the face. I don't have lots of money, I don't have lots of expensive clothes and I don't have a brand new car, but I am one lucky girl. I sat at Christmas Eve service tonight and realized that my life is no where near what I thought it would be. I never thought my parents would divorce, I never thought I would be in school at 23, and living with my mom still-but I am so lucky. I have the most wonderful family. I am not including the word friends, because my friends so often surpass as friends and I consider them my family. My "biological" family is absolutely wonderful. I have the sweetest, kindest, most loving family a girl could ask for. And my extended family is so wonderful, I feel like God chose them especially for me. I was born an only child and now have these women that I love like sisters. Elizabeth, Christina and even little Emily. I couldn't be luckier. I thank God every day for what he does for me.

Pure Romance
Last night I hopped in Christina's "truck" with Elizabeth and we headed to St. Stephens to a Pure Romance party. SOO much fun! Nothing like bonding over lubricants, oils and toys! Here's some pictures!!

Just wanted to share--
I can't think of much to write lately... correction, I can, but don't have time-- but I wanted to share a song I have fallen in love with!! I love Carrie Underwood!! She is absolutely amazing!!! And I really love the words of this song!!
"So Small"
Yeah, Yeah
[Verse 1]
What you got if you ain't got love
the kind that you just want to give away
It's okay to open up
go ahead and let the light shine through
I know it's hard on a rainy day
you want to shut the world out and just be left alone
But don't run out on your faith
[Chorus]
'Cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand
What you've been up there searching for
forever is in your hands
When you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
seem so small
[Verse 2]
It's so easy to get lost inside
a problem that seems so big at the time
it's like a river thats so wide
it swallows you whole
While you sit around thinking about what you can't change
and worrying about all the wrong things
time's flying by
moving so fast
you better make it count 'cause you can't get it back
[Chorus]
Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand
What you've been up there searching for
forever is in your hands
When you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Seem so small

Why I want to be a Teacher...
So I have read this forward several times before, but this time it really hit hard. My professor showed it to us in class last night. I fought the tears for a while, but as Cassandra and Megan saw-- they came out! The quote I love was "on that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic and instead began teaching children."
Tonight Elizabeth and I were talking about the community in her classroom and how she is so excited it. The thing I love about E is the encouragement I get from just listening to her talk. She is really a great teacher and someone I strive to be like when I teach.
I want teaching to be more than a job for me, I want it my career. I don't want to leave my kids at school when I walk out the door; I want to think about how I can help each student grow.

Absolutely Overwhelmed
I don't think I have ever been so tired in my entire life!! I am so physically exhausted I don't want to get out of bed. It's a very terrifying feeling. I feel like I am treading in the middle of the ocean and can't see the shore on any side!! I know I am not the only one feeling like this! I'm pretty sure every person in their senior year of the education program is feeling this way. I just don't know what to do to catch up!!

Story of my life...
So, tonight I was told by someone that I consider a friend that he loves me. "I love you Stacy! I really do. I've loved you since the first time I met you; I was just stupid. I didn't know what was right in front of me." To that I answered: "Story of my life" which is an OK thing to say when someone springs "I love you" on you! But it got me to thinking on my drive home. How many times in my life a guy realizes after the fact, and too late that I am a good catch and that I'm "someone you've got to get to know to love!" (Stolen from Grey's). But my new philosophy is, I don't want you to find out after the fact. I want the guy that can see it right away. I'm done giving second chances and thinking things will be different this time around. To quote my aunt Shelley: "a leopard never looses it's stripes!" I'm not going to sit and wait for the guy who has to loose me to see if I'm worth it. They guy for me is going to pray he doesn't loose me and do all he can not to, because he knows I'm worth it!
On that note, goodnight!
On that note, goodnight!

It's Been Awhile!
As I break out into song! For my Thursday Thirteen this week I thought I would post 13 things happening in my life since it's CRAZY at the moment! WARNING: This post is random!
1) I got a new computer! YAY! Still trying to get everything working properly on it.
2) They have found a tumor on my grandfather's brain and lung. Please keep him in your prayers.
3) My step-grandmother went into the hospital for a possible heart attack but she has fluid on her heart, so keep her in your prayers as well.
4) Class is absolutely exhausting!! We have a problem with our certain professor grading us on how she likes us!
5) My cat's sitting on my desk as I type, and he's so adorable!
6) I will never buy a computer from Best Buy again! And Geek Squad employees are pathetic, annoying, pimple-faced, losers who can't get a real job or girlfriend so they take there job as a power trip before going home to their moms or geek squad roommates where they place computer games all day while working on their acne!
7) I'm a very nice person unless you piss me off! Don't hang up the phone on me 9 times when I'm trying to contact your Geek Squad sorry behind!
8) I'm sick of self-righteous little girls who think their stuff don't stink cuz they go on mission trips every summer, then kiss the professors asses and talk and rag on their classmates. I'm sorry, that's not a Christian. I know I'm not perfect, I never claimed to be, but I also am not fake, I know who I am. I'm not gonna pretend I like you, then talk smack behind your back. I know I don't like you and you know I don't like you! (And my friends got my back!)
9) I'm loving all these commercials about "wait for sex". I think its a great message. For so long, the message was wait for sex or use a condom so you don't get an STD. Well guess what, they've finally got the message out that many people aren't getting STDs, their getting these babies they're not ready for! So maybe they'll take a hint!
10) I'm getting a DVR this weekend! I need one desperately!!
11) GREYS ANATOMY PREMIERES TONIGHT!!!! Heck Yes!!!
12) I've said it before, I'll say it again! I love my friends. I really do. They are such wonderful, kind, sweet people! God truly blessed me!!
13) I've got lots of homework to finish!! And I'm not doing anything about it! haha, That's not unusual!!

A pictures worth a 1000 words!
So, most everyone knows I've been on a diet for a few months. I am still losing, tho it's getting harder! But with constant support from fabulous friends and family, I've been able to do it. One other thing that keeps you going is looking at yourself in photos! The night of Emily's Bachelorette party we took a picture and I thought I was lookin pretty good! (My friends are so kind!)
Well, recently we went out for E's birthday and happened to take another picture in the same spot and I ended up in a similar position. WOW! Not that I'm where I need to be, but motivation to keep going.
I really appreciate everyone's encouragement and help! You all are wonderful!! 30 more-- here I go!! :)Friday, September 14, 2007

Lemme get my boots!!
A quote from my fabulous friend E referring to our conversation tonight. In talking with her and through the events of the weekend I have come to some conclusions. And to preface this blog, my mind is everywhere; therefore, my post tonight will be as well.
The first thing that is present on my mind is how wonderful my friends are. I was born an only child, but God has granted me with the people in my life that are closer than friends, they've become my sisters! Elizabeth and Christina are my saving grace, my good time out, my family, my girls!
Todd Sutton preaches that if you have 5 people that you can call in the middle of the night and they would be there for you, you are blessed. And these are people that aren't your family! On the top of that list is of course, E and C, but then God has blessed me with Lambda Theta Chi. I am very lucky to have these girls to call my sisters. "From the outside looking in you can't understand it; from the inside looking out, you can never explain it!"
The next thing on my mind is something that I have known for a while, but have decided tonight to finally take to heart-- If I have to explain to a guy why I won't sleep with him, he's not the right guy for me!! Too often in my relationships I find myself saying I'm not ready, I don't want to, I want to be in love. The truth is, I don't have to explain myself at all, and if I was with the right guy; he wouldn't be asking in the first place. Why can't my head keep up with my heart. Or maybe its the other way around. My heart needs to catch up to my head. I know in my heart what I wnat in a guy. I want a guy that loves God more than he loves me, because in turn he will have the love and respect for me that God wants me to have. For some reason, however, I can't seem to remember those things when I'm letting my emotions take over myself and when I become to consumed with having a boyfriend. I need to stop seeking the attention from guys and start putting the attention on God. Then perhaps I wouldn't have to worry about explaining myself, being talked to disrespectfully and being put in situations that I don't want to be in.
I need to find a church and put myself back into God's presence. I am not sure where I want to go, I don't know if Riverbluff is right for me. But I know that not trying to seek God is not the path I need to be on.
In conclusion, these are my thoughts on this weekend and the conclusions the weekend has brought me too. Please pray for my journey.

Thursday Thirteen
Well, I thought I'd do a Thursday Thirteen as well! This week I am going write about thirteen people in my life that are special!
1) My mom-- she and I argue often, but at the end of the day I know she'll always be there.
2) My daddy-- he and I have been through alot the past eight months. But through it all it has only brought us closer.
3) Elizabeth-- I love having her as a friend and mentor. I can go to her for anything and she's there to help!
4) Christina-- I haven't seen her as much as I'd like to have lately, for reasons that are out of all of our control, but I know she is always there to listen at the end of the day if I need her.
5) Heather-- she is such a sweet person and I love spending time with her and her precious babies.
6) Stephie-- I definately haven't seen her as much as I'd like, for the reason of several states+the navy, but she again is always ready and willing to listen or make you laugh!
7) Annie-- her move was tough on her, but it was a gift from God for me. I have grown so close to her and just love times when I get to talk to her.
8) Jamie-- she has grown up so much, but is still the little girl that came RUNNING to me when I walked in the door.
9) Thetas-- I'm grouping them as on because it's the Thursday THIRTEEN not THIRTY! But they are wonderful people who I am glad to call my sisters.
10) Emily-- my birthday twin!! She's like a little sister that I never had and she can always make you laugh!
11) Kally-- it's my post so I can put whoever I'd like, but I love the unconditional love my dog gives me!!
12) Aunts, Uncles and Cousins-- each one holds a place special and dear to my heart. Even if I don't see them as often, they are always there when you need them.
13) Shavonica-- another dear friend separated by the navy, but I love when she calls or I call her and we can pick up our conversation right where we left off! I miss my Shamokina!!
*Disclaimer* If your name is not on this list, you were not forgotten! I love everyone in my life!!

Some people should not own pets!!
On my way home today I see this CUTE little pup walkin down the road. I pull into my driveway and see it sniffing out everyone's yard. Something in my stomach said, he was lost. So I took my groceries in the house-- actually I threw them in so I wouldn't loose the dog! I got back in my car and went and picked him up to see his collar. NO PHONE NUMBER OR ADDRESS!!! So, I put him in and drove around to see if anyone was at the builder's or the office. NOPE! As I came back to my house to call my mom, cuz I didn't know WHAT to do, I see our neighbor across the street. She said the dog belonged to someone at the end of the street. I walk the dog back to the house where the owner opened the door and was shocked I had his dog in my hands. I said I found his dog around and didn't want her to get hurt. His response was "oh, thanks!" I'm sorry, but if my dog was out on the street-- I WOULD KNOW IT!!! I treat my pets like my babies!! And my friends pets as well!! People should have to get a license to be able to own a pet!!

Last Day
So, as you all know I've been watching two little boys this summer. The past few weeks, I've been thinking about how I'm kinda ready to get back to school and the summer to be over. Well, today it officially was. I took the boys to the water park today and we had SOOO much fun. I had to tell Reagan something three times in the car and Alex said "ya know what, let's have a good last day". I thought I was gonna cry! So, we went to Splash Island and had a GREAT day. The boys had SOOO much fun!! I did too! After some Dippin' Dots for the boys and a mini-cryfest over having to leave, we packed up and headed home.
Well, four o'clock came before I know it and I told the boys bye. I did not think I would get so upset, and I'll be watching them in two weeks babysitting, but sure enough, 5 minutes in the car and my eyes were watering!! It's crazy how quick you can fall in love with these children. (I'm starting to worry about the end of each school year when I start teaching!!) But in honor of a "water park day" and since I am Annie's cousin, I thought I should put up a slide-show of some pics of our day! :)

My Big Girl Purchase
SOOO, I made my first big girl purchase yesterday. Well, it's not paid in full, but you get the idea. I GOT A NEW CAR!! And if you knew me and knew what I was driving-- this is great news! It's an 04 Honda Civic, blue, 4 doors and I LOVE IT!!! I'm really excited. Not that I didn't appreciate having the Subaru to drive, but when you're in the middle of a heat wave and your car has no A/C-- it gets pretty rough! So, I'm super excited! I have good, reliable transportation and it's pretty too! :)
Here's a few pictures-- they're from the camera phone, so they're not the GREATEST quality, but they'll do!
I just love the lights!!

At a loss...
So, I don't know what to do. I am trying-- very hard-- to get things right in my life financially. But it seems to be the hardest thing I've done thus far. I need a car. I cannot continue to drive what I am driving, but I'm at a loss. Where do I go, what do I do, who can I talk to, who can I trust? It is a car dealerships job to make money, of course they are going to try and get everything they can from me-- but I don't know what to ask for, I don't know what fees are real and what they are just charging me for. And the worst part of it all is that I have NO ONE to help. I am completely blind going into this. I want my Honda! (Or at this point, any Honda) But, I need something! Don't get me wrong, I am very thankful that I was given this car to drive, but I need to do this-- I just wish I knew what I was doing!!

Simple Actions
Sometimes people can just push you away! Not all at once, but a daily thing! Their words, actions, and attitudes begin to slowly allow you to see their true colors! Until one day, being in their presence becomes unbearable.
The plus side to this is that it teaches you to watch yourself. To make sure you become a person that doesn't hurt people by their actions; a person that doesn't push people away.

Sick days should be left for when you feel good!
I'm home sick AGAIN today! And I don't like it one bit! I want to be at work and not home! When I was younger I use to hope I'd get sick just so I wouldn't have to go to school! My how that's changed! All I wanna do is feel better! Sick days are better used when you're not sick! I guess I've watched Ferris Bueler too much in my lifetime! :)

I love this show!
If you know me-- you already know what show I'm talking about! I love me some Dawson's Creek! It is one of the greatest shows ever created. I was feeling nostalgic tonight and decided to put on me series finale and think of old times! (Not like I don't watch it enough during the week while the boys are playing!) But something about a television show- this one in particular- just becomes a part of me. For that hour of your life you can escape the hassles of the world and just enjoy living the life of the characters on the show. They become part of you-- it becomes serious stuff when you're watching... to the point of not allowing people to talk! :) Then the words spoke by your favorite characters, become quotes of wisdom! Maybe I'm just a little too dramatic and get too involved with the shows I watch-- but I know other people who feel as I do! So it's ok!
Some memorable words that I'm surprised I missed before:
"As much as you want to you can't rely on someone to make you feel alive-- that's an inside job!"
"It's not about getting it right... it's about knowing when it's wrong and doing something about it!"
"It's interesting how people use that expression: "Life and Death", as to say life is the opposite of death. Birth is the opposite of death-- life has no opposite."

New Shoes
There's something about a new pair of shoes that just makes me happy!! (Especially when I find them on SALE!) I think this song just fits me perfect! I can stand for hours in a shoe store trying on shoes!! They're a present to myself when I do good, when I'm feeling bad, or when they're just too cute to pass up!!
"New Shoes"-PAOLO NUTINI
Woke up cold one Tuesday,
I'm looking tired and feeling quite sick,
I felt like there was something missing in my day to day life,
So I quickly opened the wardrobe,
Pulled out some jeans and a T-Shirt that seemed clean,
Topped it off with a pair of old shoes,
That were ripped around the seams,
And I thought these shoes just don't suit me.
[CHORUS:]
Hey, I put some new shoes on,
And suddenly everything is right,I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling,
It's so inviting,
Oh, short on money,
But long on time,
Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine,
And I'm running late,
And I don't need an excuse,
'cause I'm wearing my brand new shoes.
Woke up late one Thursday,
And I'm seeing stars as I'm rubbing my eyes,
And I felt like there were two days missing,
As I focused on the time,
And I made my way to the kitchen,
But I had to stop from the shock of what I found,
A room full of all off my friends dancing round and round,
And I thought hello new shoes,
Bye bye them blues.
[CHORUS]
Take me wandering through these streets,
Where bright lights and angels meet,
Stone to stone they take me on,
I'm walking to the break of dawn.
[x2][CHORUS (x2)]
Take me wandering through these streets
**And here's a pic of my newest shoes that inspired this little blog!**

Some of my favorite quotes:
"...I believe, I believe, I... I believe in the good. I believe that it's been a hell of a year and I believe that, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that we will be okay. I believe a lot of things. I believe that... I believe that "she" is always with me... and I believe that if I eat a tub of butter and no one sees, that the calories don't count.... I believe we survive,.... I believe that believing we survive... is what makes us survive."
